Home sweet home | amman Baby and family photographer |

This was one of those sessions where, from the moment it was booked, I just could hardly wait for it to happen! Cutie pie baby girl, super sweet parents, a mom with a passion for funky hats and an amazing garden where it would all come together, which also happens to be Baby Jenna’s great grandma’s garden, where her mom grew up playing…how sweet is that?!

What I love about on location sessions is that they give you a chance to tell a unique story, no two sessions are the same because no two families are the same, no two homes are the same and no two babies are the same!

So here’s to lived in homes, food stained clothes, chewed on toys, sleepless nights and hectic days…here’s to hand-me-downs, mama’s cooking, piles of laundry on the floor and being teased by siblings…here’s to what makes each family unique…here’s to home:)

Beautiful 8 month old baby Jenna and her sweet loving parents, Mashallah!

Hey Jude!

By now I have photographed quite a few mama’s with their babies and have also taken many photos of my own baby, however, being the photographer means that I always end up being the missing person in photos and well…I started getting a bit jealous:P

I love being a mother (Elhamdulillah), I love spending time with my son and I really want him to see one day how I feel about him, and what his baby days were like. The only way to do that well, in my view, is through photography…So I asked the very talented and lovely Jude Al Safadi to photograph us after seeing her work on Facebook, she kindly agreed and we had our wonderful photo session a few weeks ago…

I’m over the moon with the photos, Jude has captured us just being us, so beautifully! I always tell people that portrait photography is not about owning a professional camera, It’s not about the technique or how much of a great photographer you are, although those things are important…I believe it’s about how you feel, how you see people, how you understand relationships and the emotions that bring us all together when we think we are all so different…this is how a beautiful and memorable portrait photograph is achieved!

Dear Jude, thank you for putting your heart into our photos , I know I couldn’t have had such beautiful results otherwise and I will always appreciate that you did this for us!

Old friends and New Babies | amman newborn photographer |

One of my favourite things about the internet is how it can bring people closer together. Websites like Facebook keep me in touch with so many people that I otherwise would know nothing about. Old school friends for example who i’d lost contact with or friends and family who live far away, I know you probably have many similar stories to share. The mama of this adorable baby boy was at school with me way back when….we were (cool, very cool) children of the 90′s and now we’re both mama’s coping with all the good and bad that  21st century parenting brings.

This was one of those sessions where I felt like I was in the baby torture business:P it’s sad but true that more often than not, beautiful newborn images do not really describe what actually goes on behind the scenes….crying, rocking, shushing, feedings, diaper changes and a lot of laundry:)

I loved catching up with this Mama and having our lives collide once again to document such a special occasion, a new arrival who is sure to bring so much joy…Baby Marwan and his lovely parents, Mashallah!

Spring is here | amman family photographer |

I’ve realized lately that the weather is most definitely not a boring subject, safe it may be, but boring it is not! We’ve been stuck at home with all the bad weather for Baby Faris’s sake, so when the sun came out last Friday so did WE! It seems nearly everyone in Jordan was out for a picnic somewhere, and it was really lovely to see people enjoying themselves with their families.

I’m feeling extremely inspired, spring in Jordan is magical indeed and I can’t wait to photograph children and families against the beautiful backdrops that it provides. Golden afternoon light, sun flares, green hills and bright red poppies were all in abundance last Friday and it really was refreshing! My husband took some photos of me and Faris (after I set the camera of course) and I got a couple that I’m completely in love with, being the photographer I always find myself missing in photos:)

So here we are, Baba, Mama and Faris who is nearly one, a fact that I haven’t fully absorbed yet!
